Oh man, where to even begin with these two. I’d previously shot their adorable in-home engagement session, and I pretty much fell in love with them while we bonded over champagne. I knew their Palm Springs inspired wedding at Plaza del Toro would be gorgeous, but it totally blew me away! Georgia’s boho dress and Brian’s hip, red suit perfectly represented their personalities. Then showing up to see an industrial restaurant venue transformed into a bohemian and classy event space was the icing on the cake. They had a small ceremony with family and close friends, and afterwards the rest of their guests arrived. There wasn’t a sit down dinner, and the whole reception felt like a hip cocktail hour turned dance party. These two did things their way, and I couldn’t have been more excited to capture it all.Read More
To be honest, I shot Gwen & Ben’s Joshua Tree elopement a year and a half ago. It’s one of those photo sets that I’ve been meaning to blog, but I kept putting it on the back burner while I shot new work. It was fun to go back through their day and put this post together.
A little about Gwen & Ben… they actually had a handful of weddings all over the United States! Since they had family spread out across the country, they had this incredible idea to take their wedding to all of them. They traveled for weeks in a darling vintage airstream and stopped to have weddings and celebrations with all of their loved ones along the way. I shot their first one (that also should be blogged someday, but oh time!) and also this one, their last in Joshua Tree. I loved how this one was at the end of their journey, and it felt like the perfect, relaxing celebration before heading back to Portland.
Here’s Gwen & Ben.. being effortlessly cool. Enjoy.Read More

Sequins, whiskey shots, climbing on a roof, a hip venue and the absolute best guests.
This wedding set itself apart.
It's days like these I feel honored to be there to capture all the love.
As a photographer, I witness a lot of weddings, and I have to admit that there are some that have such amazing energy that I finish my day and feel like I haven't even worked. This day felt that way.
Congratulations Maureen + Bradley, and thank you for believing me when I said that the Mississippi Street Fair would be the perfect place to take a limo to in the middle of the day.
Welcome to the cutest wedding in the history of weddings. Seriously.
Words can't describe how happy I am that by random chance I connected with Meg and Dan. Not only was their wedding full of joy and incredibly fun to photograph, but Kyle and I have become great friends with them over the course of the last year.
Everything about their day was adorable, and almost every detail was DIY. The invitations and programs were designed by the bride and groom, each sign was hand-drawn, the flowers were crafted by one of the bridesmaids, and the cake was baked the night before by the wedding party. Oh! How amazing is the taco pedaler that biked the entire party's dinner to the event!?
I love all of the photographs so much that it was difficult to choose which ones to post. There are quite a few, but I think it sums up their day beautifully. I've even interwoven the film photos into the thread (they are the square ones). Enjoy!
Alison and Chris kept things simple (and very Portland); they were married at City Hall in front of their closest friends and family, they held a cocktail hour afterwards at Clyde Common, and they hosted an intimate dinner at Ned Ludd (complete with a special menu crafted for the occasion). Every time I look through their photos I feel honored that I was fortunate enough to be part of their beautiful wedding day.
